We need you to write to Lord Grade and tell him:
- Many of the Age Verification systems proposed by Ofcom carry unacceptable risks to privacy, data security and our human rights.
- Mobile network operators and digital wallets are the only acceptable form of Age Verification without relying on flawed technology and forcing users to hand over more personal info or IDs.
- There are too many risks should people try to bypass Age Verification technology. Children may be directed towards the dark web — a much more dangerous experience with broader harms.
No technology so far effectively does Age Verification without seriously infringing on our privacy. Ofcom must get the tech right first before acting.
